May 12, 2024 - Outreach Program

Project Title: IBACMI Feeding Program, Gift-Giving and Tree Planting
Location:  Sitio Pantaron Banlag Valencia City
Date:  May 12, 2024

In a heartfelt demonstration of community solidarity and environmental stewardship, Ms. Agnes Nieva Escudero, Program Head of the Culture and Arts Development Council of IBACMI, alongside Ms. Moonyeen Lileth V. Antonio, Vice President for Academic Affairs of IBACMI, and Barangay IPMR Datu Mansaloon, orchestrated a multifaceted outreach event in Sitio Pantaron, Banlag, Valencia City. This initiative seamlessly combined a feeding program, gift-giving, and a tree-planting activity, profoundly impacting the local community.

Nourishing Bodies and Spirits

The event commenced with a feeding program that catered to approximately 300 children and numerous adults. Volunteers served nutritious meals, ensuring that each participant received a hearty portion. The highlight for many of the children was the delightful treat of ice cream donated by  Councilor Sistoso, a rarity in their daily lives, which brought immense joy and excitement. The smiles and laughter that accompanied this simple pleasure underscored the profound impact of the gesture.

Sharing Blessings Through Gift-Giving

In addition to the meals, the program included the distribution of clothing to both children and adults. The students of IBACMI played a pivotal role in this segment, generously sharing their resources and time. Their active participation not only provided essential items to the recipients but also fostered a sense of empathy and community service among the students. Witnessing the gratitude of the beneficiaries reinforced the importance of giving back and strengthened the bond between the institution and the community.

Cultivating a Greener Future

Recognizing the importance of environmental conservation, the event also featured a tree-planting activity. Participants, including community members and volunteers, planted native tree species, contributing to the reforestation efforts in Sitio Pantaron. This initiative not only aims to restore the local ecosystem but also serves as a lasting symbol of the collaborative efforts between IBACMI and the community. Engaging the youth in this activity instilled a sense of responsibility towards nature and highlighted the role of environmental stewardship in sustainable development.

A Unified Effort for Holistic Development

The success of this event was a testament to the collaborative efforts of IBACMI's leadership, faculty, students, and the local community. Ms. Escudero and Ms. Antonio's dedication, combined with the active involvement of Barangay IPMR Datu Mansaloon, ensured that the program addressed both immediate needs and long-term aspirations of the residents. The holistic approach—nourishing the body, uplifting the spirit, and nurturing the environment—embodies the core values of community development and paves the way for future initiatives that foster resilience and unity.

In conclusion, the feeding program, gift-giving, and tree-planting event in Sitio Pantaron exemplified the power of collective action in driving positive change. The joy experienced by the children, the gratitude of the adults, and the enthusiasm of the volunteers coalesced into a memorable occasion that will resonate within the community for years to come.
